Rose Window Necklace

$99.00

The inspiration for these earrings came from noted architectural details found in the "Rose Window" at Mission San Jose in San Antonio. The window was sculpted in 1775 by Spanish carpenter and surveyor, Pedro Huizar. The window is often revered as one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in North America.

Legend says that while Pedro's love, Rosa, was traveling across the sea from Spain to Texas, her ship sank and Rosa was lost at sea. Devastated and heartbroken, Pedro decided to sculpt this window in her honor.

The pendant is handcrafted from eco-friendly recycled fine silver (.999) and hangs from an adjustable 20 inch sterling silver (.925) chain. Each pendant is lightly hand hammered and features various impressions to resemble the stonework found all around the original Rose Window.
